Music Video: MC Hammer - They Put Me In The Mix

Music Video: Ciara - Promise from new album "Evolution"

I was not impressed at the beginning but after the "line of girls with the pelvic thrusts while lying on the wall scene" I am hooked. This video is so hot it sizzles!!

These gals are sexy. Great marketing!

Poem: Whole

Her presence soothes my soul,
my lady makes me whole.
I’m only an actor in her story,
one honored to play the role.
Finally this immature smoker of temporal women
has found a reason to quit.
This key has finally found a lock
that it can comfortably fit.
Someone who appreciates my faults,
enjoys the bliss of my silent company.
Who respects my fortitude
and cradles my emotions like a baby.
She is the myth of contentment
revealed to me in flesh and bone.
The melodious light that radiates the face
of this once restless and lonely moon.
Now that my eyes have witnessed “the beauty”
I yearn to make her smile.
My dreams paint visions of eternal commitment
and hopes of rings exchanged
at the end of a chapel aisle.
Like the sound of billowing waves kissing the shore,
her silky touch soothes my soul.
From my head’s humble crown to my feet’s weary sole;
my lady makes me whole.

I love some of the lyrics to this song :-)

Poem: Stop dwelling

Heart, let the love die.
Bury the past
and stop dwelling on “why?”
She doesn’t deserve you;
you are better off with someone new.
Someone who will cradle your affection
and truly appreciate you for you.
How many times
must you continue to fall?
Falling repeatedly in a nursery rhyme
like Humpty Dumpty

from a rising high wall.
Have some dignity and cut
the emotional and physical cords
that bind.
Plant a new garden of dreams
and cast that former crop

from your mind.
You made a mistake,
but it was not to drink

from a glass of dreams.
Your error in judgment
was to continuously sip

from a cup of steam.
Good riddance to negative karma
and wasted time,
To stay in such a relationship
would have been a heinous crime
Bury the past
and stop dwelling on “why?”
Heart, dear heart,
let the love die.

Poem: I prayed for her

I prayed for her, but God gave me you.
Now that I have known you, my Queen,
no other woman will ever do!
You are the constellation of gleaming stars in my night
that gift an illuminating twinkle to my eyes.
You make me soar majestically like a sacred condor
hovering in the velvet blue sky.

I float peacefully like a fluffy white cloud
full of unbridled joy for your affection.
My waves of admiration flow to your shore
and cover its beach with utter elation.
She was my world, and when she left
I felt like a hollow song without a verse.
Until I saw your angelic face that defied time and space,
and you became my universe.
I’m the melodic evening tide attracted to you,
the mystical moon I gladly pursue.
I prayed for her repeatedly on my knees,
but thank God for giving me you.

Mario Vasquez Ft Baby Bash - Gallery Remix

Another remix of one of my favorite 2006 songs. KOOL! The original and reggaeton versions are still the best.

Frankie J That Girl

Nice jam and pretty girls in the video. I've been supporting this artist from his first two albums. My favorite song from the latest record is "hurry up" and "top of the line" from his new album Priceless. I bought the record for $1.56 on-line. God Bless those folks in Russia for legitimate affordable downloading.

Poem: Captivated

I’m in love with an angel;
captivated by a kiss gifted by a daughter of The Divine.
I delight daily in the spellbinding pool
of her chocolate eyes
as if I were sipping the sweetest wine.
She is the refreshing spring to my dreary winter;
she is the missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle
that completes me.
I was a wayward celibate river without a purpose
until I was able to flow my affections into her, my sea.
I think about her everyday when I’m driving,
she is the empress of my daydreams.
She is the rose that never fades
the culmination of all the gorgeous women on television
with signature names.
She is the crystal full moon at twilight
that paints my ordinary sky with cosmic light.
I would be blinded constantly by her beauty
even if I had lost my sight.
It’s the way she politely touches my soul
with her words and hands
beyond my flesh and bone.
It’s the incandescent joy I have in catering to her needs
as she sits solely upon my humble throne.
I’m in love with an angel;
captivated by a kiss
that unlocks all of my deepest sensations.
I have been infatuated by many women
but she is the holy one that defies my imagination.

Poem: Coward

They were right about me,
I am a coward inside.
You don’t need a man like me,
one who thinks that you are someone to hide.
Because I ‘m deeply ashamed of you

and I should let you go;
Discontinue sleeping repeatedly with you
when my conscience is telling me no.
I only take you to movies,
never to a fancy restaurants

or foreign celebrity shows.
I don’t like to introduce you to my friends
and I don’t want you to know.
I only pick you up in my car after the sun sets;
I don’t stop by your office during the day.
Every time you visit my house when I have company
I do my best to chase you away.
I’m prepared to abandon ship
as soon as I have another willing vessel to board
while I whether your anger’s storm.
I keep looking franticly for someone new,
someone sexier to moan my name and keep me warm.
I don’t send you cards or flowers;
I will never buy you any type of jewelry.
You can’t give me what I desire
and that is the heart of this travesty.
In the dead of night while we lay
I often wish that you were a past lover.
The memory of that love ignites more passion
than your body entangled by my side beneath the covers.
I’m planting my tree in your available pot
until I can find a more lucrative permanent spot.
I love pleasing my selfish carnal desires
while stroking the embers of your furnace
until you give me all that you‘ve got.
I’d rather be comforted by a woman
that I am ashamed to be attracted to
than to be in bed alone.
I am a coward inside, not worthy of the woman
who I’m so readily prepared to disown.

Trinidad 2004 - Visage playing on the big truck - Bahamas

I was visiting Trinidad and marching (jumpin') with the Skandalas Posse. The band on the big truck was my native band "Visage" from The Bahamas. The music was excellent and I enjoyed resting on the big truck and taking pictures of the band. The Bahamas represented in full effect! The audio is a little bad - I guess I was too close to the band.

Poem: Second to none

You are everlasting, like the radiant sun,
A sparkling jewel, my darling, “second to none”.
Your persona and compassion is “diamond rare”.
No mere shiny imitation can compare.
I admit that in ignorance
I have been fooled by “the plastic”,
the actresses in a play.
Dazzled by their seductive eyes,
mesmerised as they place their bodies on display.
As David did for Bathsheba in the Bible,
I sacrificed my soul for a coveted thrill;
But I have matured since then,
now their glisten makes me ill.
Like King Midas after the end of his folktale,
I can finally appreciate a lady
as an endearing treasure.
See you as a priceless being
who can provide me with eternal pleasure.
My dear, you are everlasting, like the radiant sun.
A breathtaking jewel, “second to none”.

Music Video: Pink - You and Your Hand (U and Ur Hand)

I love Pink when she does this type of song. Wicked, cheeky and real. The words are cool and the video would have been better if they had kept it simple and follow the song. A guy hits on a gal dancing in a club and is utterly rejected. The two unreleased songs for Pink's latest album are even better than this song. Fantastic!!!

Poem: Personality alone won’t do

Personality alone just won’t do it for me.
Personality alone just won’t do it for me.
I dated one of them for a year, thank God I’m free.
Because personality alone just won’t do it for me!
So you are really fat,
fat chance in hell that I’m giving you the time of day.
So you are nice,
but nasty is what I need when its time to play.
You got money,
you better off being bubbly and funny.
You got degrees,
but is your pudding in the middle sweet like honey.

Too much Jesus and Holy Spirit on my pull out sofa
is an easy "no" decision.
Please don’t pass go,
if you have an untreated medical or mental condition.
Just because you can cook,
doesn’t mean that I want to taste your wares
for the rest of my life.
You need more than good looks and a nice figure
to be candidate for my wife.
If you are ugly,
read the large print, "please do not apply!"
If you are too old,
have some dignity, don’t even try.
If you are a walking ghetto fashion statement,
you aren’t my type.
I dated models in college,
frankly, I don’t believe the hype.

I’m not your pogo stick if all you want is frequent sex.
If you have a newborn and live with the father,
one word, “Next!
Personality alone just won’t do it for me!
Personality alone just won’t do it for me!
You need to have a combination of faith, compassion,
freak, beauty, and creativity.
Because personality alone just won’t do it for me!

Poem: Blessing

He was a fool
to give away the best thing he ever had.
How a man could give up a blessing
like Esau of the Bible makes me “so” mad!
He won’t realize that he had a good thing;

the best of both worlds until after you are gone.
His penance will be a spring of sadness in his eyes

that will sporadically prick like an embedded thorn.
He sacrificed his eternal rose,

forsaked his bride of ecstasy.
But I will always be grateful to him

because he left you open to me.
I will treasure the blessing;

I will dedicate my life
to making you (my angel) smile.
I will bow down on one knee,

and later escort you down a chapel aisle.
I knew from the first day that I saw you

with loving eyes that I could be with you forever.
Bound by cords of love and respect

that the elements cannot sever.
He was a fool to leave you;

I was wise enough to be your fair-weather friend;
And I will treasure you (my blessing)

until my heartbeats end.

Dancing at "Da Island Club" - Nassau, Bahamas

"Da Island Club" at the Nassau Beach Hotel is a historic native club which includes captivating bands, vocalists and caribbean deejaying. I went with my date to go dancing and had a superb time twisting and gyrating. I got to speak to my distant cousin and fantastic etertainer Mr. Frddie Munnings Jr. I only got to catch the end of his culutral singing/insrtumentl/dancing show which is on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8PM. See video from Atlantis Hotel beach performance below of Funky Nassau until I can find version with Freddie Munnings Jr. singing it.

Saw "Jambalaya" at the Wyndham Nassau Resort Resorts & Crystal Palace Casino - Nassau, Bahamas,

Cable Beach Resorts & Crystal Palace Casino, Nassau, Bahamas, presented "Jambalaya", its culturally-infused entertainment showcase that celebrates the island's French, Spanish, African and Caribbean cultural influences. Created exclusively for the resort, Jambalaya is a high-energy extravaganza featuring tumblers, dancers, singers and exotic costumes.

I loved the show and was singing with most of the songs. The lady dancing while suspended in the air by a large ring was awesome. The vocalist were great and made me look even more forward to Patti Labelle's concert on 21Oct06. I got to meet the dancers and Laura (above in the red outfit) at cafe Johnny Canoe in the Nassau Beach Hotel. My date (a.k.a. Caramel Rose) enjoyed herself tremendously and looked absolutely stunning in her wrap outfit as if she was floating on air. I didn't bring my camera - I will just have to rely on my memory.

Culturefest 2007 - Delaporte Community Fair

A friend rescued me (Sean-napped) from boredom by carrying me to Culturefest 2007 for native food and Bahamian music. She was a true angel since I was not supposed to be driving over the weekend. The festival was hosted by Minster Neville Wisdom and featured boxing, bands, Junkanoo, karate, dancers etc. We only stayed during the afternoon events before going by my friend's Mom's home to watch Flavor in Love (New York or Krazy have to go episode) and so she could change to her glam outfit.

We then went to watch the movie "Departed".

Later that night we went to the Best of the Best Party at the Butler and Sands property. My friend danced for hours, I was more restrained than her but had a lot of fun. See perfomance of "Krazy Bwoy" by Funky D (video taken by someone at the concert):

Poem: The Fool

Why do I love so much,
why am I always the fool?
Why am I the one who gives until it hurts,

only to be discarded like a garden tool?
At the precept of every new relationship

I build a higher wall to be my guard.
But like the mighty walls of Jericho my defenses crumble,

and my heart falls so “hard”.

I try not to trust, I try to brandish emotions of steel,
I try to not become attached

but I can’t hide the way I feel.
Am I cursed to be the constant victim

of relationships forlorn?
To be scarred by unforgettable memories

like a woman scorned.
How do I never cross the line

between love and infatuation?
Be prepared to walk away like a man of stone,

feeling no sensation.
Why do I have to carry the burden,

the heartache, like a mule?
Why do I love so much,

why am I always the fool?

Poem: No Room

It saddens me to say this
after all that we’ve been through.
But in my heart and in my home
there is no room for two.
I can’t be seeing her on weekends
and sleeping with you every other night.
Although I love making you moan
I hate fighting with my conscience
when I hold her tight.
I’ll never take you to church on Sunday;
I refuse to spend the holidays by your side.
I will never give you my house key
and I don’t dream about you being my bride.
I’m sorry that I hurt you,
I regret allowing you to believe
that our relationship had more in store.
But you deserve a man who is devoted solely to you;
someone who will stay tied to your shore.
I deserve the rapid fiery slaps in the face;
I deserve the vicious profane words that you said.
I treated you like an uptown whore
and I’m not worthy of the tears you shed.
I can only tell one person that I love them,
and unfortunately that person is not you;
Because in my heart and in my home
there is no room for two.

National Denim Day: Cancer - The Pink Shirt Dilemma

The things I do for charity. The pink t-shirt promoted by the Cancer Society was pushing the metrosexual agenda a little too far. Trust me, that pink shirt is getting worn in public once and that was at work today. Luckily there were only three of us at the office.

Poem: No Shame

How dare they honor him this way,
do they have no shame.
Using political mileage to mark a historical milestone
and demeaning his prestigious name.
When a man has contributed his utmost to a country
one expects his or her admirers to bestow the best.
Even Mary of the Bible knew that Jesus feet
were to be perfumed with the richest incense;
she could not offer him anything less.
Why dedicate a man’s legacy to a tourist and hotelier’s
perfect example of an eyesore.
When we honor ourselves and our dead
do we not demand and expect so much more.
Whether one agrees with changing the name of the edifice
we should all share one thing in common accord.
Placing a man’s name on a building with leaking roofs,
disgraceful bathrooms and cracked floors is a sham award.

We should not act niggardly when it comes to our heritage,
we must show the next generation
how to act with dignity and pride.
Roll out the red carpet and finest linen
for our famous native sons and daughters
like at a wedding for the bride.
It’s not appropriate to place a national hero’s birthright
on a dilapidated building.
The proper thing to do is to reconstruct the site
before naming it after the honorable Lyden Pindling.
It’s a sad day when we overlook protocol and good taste
to tarnish a champion’s claim to fame.
How dare they honor him this way,
do they have no shame.

Passing the Bar Party - 02Oct06

A former co-worker from my auditing days is now a lawyer and a CPA. His party was heartwarming and touching because I was aware of his struggles and sacrifices to attain this remarkable accomplishment. I wish him the best and pray that God continues to strengthen him.

Passing the Bar Party - 29Sep06

A family friend's daughter is officially a lawyer and her family had a celebration banquet at the Riu Hotel on Paradise Island, Bahamas. I attended with my parents and enjoyed the food and family.

Poem: Where is your pride?

Where is your pride?
Is it buried six feet under inside?
When did respect for home, community, and country
not apply to the place where you reside.
How can you say that because there was no garbage bin
that refuse should be dumped on the ground?
Yet you stare in disgust and idly gossip

about the trash that abounds.
Everyday garbage is tossed out of cars on to a street or highway;
forcing the government to hire workers to cart the debris away.
Your children and younger siblings watch what you do
knowing that it contradicts the words you say.
So they reenact your littering as they grow
and mock your words when they play.

P is for preservation of the reputation and integrity
of our native land.
R is for respect of home,

never to litter where you abide with your hand.
I is for the instruction of cleanliness to be imparted

to a future generation.
D is for diligence to godliness and reverence to the blessing

of an attractive nation.
E is for everyone to be able to enjoy the sand, sea

and natural island beauty.
Where is your pride Bahamians,
your adoration for your heritage; our native bride?
When did respect for home, community and country
not apply to the place where you reside.

Music Video: Monica ft. Dem Franchise Boyz - Everytime The Beat Drops

This beat is SO SICK!!! Luv it!!!
The album (The makings of me) is tight - I copped an unreleased copy of the 10 tracks last night plus a bonus song. I wish the profanity was toned down but the album is outstanding.
This is a must own for R&B fans. My favorite songs are "Sideline Ho!" and "Raw ft. Swizz Beats". Monica is very good with the "my man cheatin' on me" songs.
