Poem: Stop dwelling

Heart, let the love die.
Bury the past
and stop dwelling on “why?”
She doesn’t deserve you;
you are better off with someone new.
Someone who will cradle your affection
and truly appreciate you for you.
How many times
must you continue to fall?
Falling repeatedly in a nursery rhyme
like Humpty Dumpty

from a rising high wall.
Have some dignity and cut
the emotional and physical cords
that bind.
Plant a new garden of dreams
and cast that former crop

from your mind.
You made a mistake,
but it was not to drink

from a glass of dreams.
Your error in judgment
was to continuously sip

from a cup of steam.
Good riddance to negative karma
and wasted time,
To stay in such a relationship
would have been a heinous crime
Bury the past
and stop dwelling on “why?”
Heart, dear heart,
let the love die.
