Poem: To Replace You - Nassau, Bahamas

Dear love of my life,
my dreams come true.
How will I ever find someone
to replace you?
I am no longer a part of your world,
but you will always be a part of mine.
Years of trust and devotion
can never be dismissed by that document I signed.
You were unhappy when you left me,
though I tried to persuade you to stay.
But a better man,
someone who was more of a caring husband,
took you away.
I hope that you are as happy with him
as I am miserable without you.
I still wear my wedding ring
as a testament of my love true.
I will try to go on with my life;
I know that you would want it that way,
And when I die,

I pray that we will be together someday.

Poem: Desperate Heart - Nassau, Bahamas

Here I stand unprepared,
being battered by the rain,
Listening to my desperate heart
tell me no pain, no gain.
Pleading for forgiveness
from a woman I’ve scorned.
Soaked to the bone
in the darkness of the early morn.
Knowing that she can hear me,
knowing that she cares.
Knowing that she is torn,
feeling her tears.
Praying that she opens the door
and lets me in.
Hoping that our suffering
can be transformed into healing.
Ignoring my eyes,
no longer thinking with my analytic brain.
Listening to my desperate heart
tell me no pain, no gain.

Poem: Goodbye to those lonely nights - Nassau, Bahamas

Darling everything is going to be all right
Say goodbye to those lonely nights
Erase the painful memories
of when your bed was so cold.
Gone are the times
when you had no breathing blanket to hold.
I can see the hunger in your eyes,
but woman hunger no more.
Tonight I am the goal box
and you are going to repeatedly score.
I promise that I will be gentle,
let me in and relax.
Permit me to appease your loins
until you reach climax.
Embrace this warm body by your side
until we greet the sunlight;
Daily let me pour my river into your sea,
and say goodbye to those lonely nights.

Poem: Your Reputation - Nassau, Bahamas

In this seductive dance of politics
one must be aware of the powers of perception;
It is premised by one’s native costume
known to all as your reputation.
This garb of imagery and advertisement is vital
to the future business
of a tourism industry reliant nation.
The artistic prowess of the dance
and technical skills of excellence
may be overlooked by poor presentation.
To skip or fall during one’s term in office
is expected during one’s opinionated expression;
But to be inappropriately dressed for the gala
results in a negative first
and often lasting impression.
Families abroad who view their country
being disgraced internationally in the media
share our shame and frustration.
Indeed, one must expect
to be held to higher standards of ethics and fortitude
when one represents a nation.
In a global village one must shuffle and execute
with timeliness, certainty, and precision.
Truth becomes tarnished and faith is lost
when “common sense” takes a vacation.
In this waltz of politics
one must be aware of the powers of perception;
Don’t eagerly sacrifice years of hard work
for the fleeting lime lights profitable emanation.
Dress appropriately for the seductive dance
and safeguard your reputation.

Poem: A Mere Chapter - Nassau, Bahamas

You may have won this round.
You may have pummelled me to the ground.
You may be getting all of the glory.
But you are only a mere chapter in my story.
This is one stumble,
one lesson I have to learn,
Stripes that will heal
in preparation for the successes I will earn.
I may be down but I am not knocked out.
I will get up and fight until the final bout.
Even if I don’t win I will do my best.
I will try harder and dig deeper
no matter my opponent or the type of contest.
I have a dream and I have the dedication
to make it come true.
I will succeed beyond my expectations
even it means by bypassing you.
You may have the experience on your side
that I desire.
You may have dimmed the light
emanating from my fire.
You may have embarrassed me
and attained a shallow victory.
But you are only a mere chapter in my story.

Lunch with my Valentine

Poem: Valentines Day - Nassau, Bahamas - Written in 1989

One day each year romance is on the horizon
and love is in full bloom.
A day when eyes sparkle with emotions,
expressing feelings that seem to brighten a dreary room.
There are no paper hearts that can portray the admiration
that beats so strongly inside.
There are no amounts of candy that can take the place
of the sweetness that resides.
The roses, how they wilt,
and how easily their perfume is lost.
Yet, the words 'I love you',
makes one purchase gifts no matter what the cost.
A love poem, how intricate and delicate is each word;
only to be forgotten when the next lover comes.
A fancy dinner for two is so special,
but the taste is as fleeting
as the essence of a drop of rum.
At the end of the day when love is at its peak,
and the feelings can't seem to be any stronger.
There is a hug, a kiss, utter bliss,
and throughout the remainder of the night,
the two lovers dream of each other.

Poem: Wrap Me (Valentine Version) - Nassau, Bahamas

Wrap me up in your arms,
if only for tonight.
Tie my feelings in bows of glee
and pull my body tight.
Read the label of my eyes
and entertain your mind.
Sense this precious treasure within,
and marvel at the riches that you will find.
This coming Valentines day
I promise to present myself to you anew.
I am even willing to let you take a peek
before Valentines Day if you want me to.
Gently open me up,
moving slowly from bottom to top.
Don’t hold a single touch back,
don’t allow your soothing hands to stop.
Passionately embrace this “one” who loves you,
and rapture me with care.
Partake wholly of my gift of love
which is yours to unwrap and enjoy
at this special time of year.

Poem: Falling In Love (With You) - Nassau, Bahamas

Deep in my heart
I know that something is going on;
It's too mysterious to be questioned,
and too good to be wrong.
Thoughts of you,
omens that guide me to tomorrow;
The same thoughts that direct my mind
in the midst of discomfort and sorrow.
My heart and soul are happily imprisoned
within the touch of your hand.
I feel perfect pleasure in your embrace,
and can't help feeling that I am yours to command.

Every night I admire a picture of you
that I keep lying by my bed,
And every night I keep wishing
that you were there instead.
To lay against my warm body
and whisper sweet affectionate words in my ears.
To feel myself capitulate to your touch,
and become your teddy bear.
Each fiber of my being
aching for the stroke of your fingertips;
Worsened by the insatiable desire
for the press of your mouth against my lips.
Constantly wondering if your thoughts
are including me too,
That's what falling in love with you
was bound to do.

Michael Jackson Vs. MC Hammer - Undisputed Winner: MC HAMMER

The winner is MC Hammer. Hammer has too many dance moves and his style is often original. Michael Jackson has the best choreography in his performances which is also a testament to the great dancers that he has around him. The video compilation doesn’t do MC Hammer justice because it doesn’t contain clips from the music videos “This is the way we roll” or clips from the “Too Legit – Get Buck Master mix” which show Hammer doing a multitude of video labeled moves and also features him dancing with duplicates of himself that are unmatched in music videos. The King of Pop may have the edge in musical hits but when it comes to one on one dancing MC Hammer (the dancing machine) can’t be beat. The challenge was made to Michael Jackson in the “Too Legit” video and was proposed by James Brown (The Godfather of Soul) himself. Even then Michael Jackson knew to give both MC Hammer and James Brown the respect they deserved. MC Hammer wins!!!

Poem: Head to toe - Nassau, Bahamas

I belong to you from head to toe.
Treat me right and I will never go.
I wait patiently for your arrival
like a newly wed for his bride.
Like the evening tide that graces the shore,
I will remain fervently by your side.
This contract, this body, is sealed by your kiss.
Every detail is pure devotion;
no strand of emotion is left amiss.
Caress my bodice like the morning light
against the window pane.
Spin my imagination round and round
like the west wind to a weathervane.
As long as you continually pledge your love to me,
this man will remain true.
And from head to toe, with every breath,
I will continue to belong to you.

Poem: Something insidious (Female Version) - Nassau, Bahamas

The absence of fervour in your touch.
The strange strands of hair
found on my bathroom brush.
The people who keep talking
about you behind my back.
Your constant cravings
for a late night fast food snack.
The sudden business luncheons
on the weekend.
The woman who calls the house
saying she’s your friend.
At first I dismissed all these things
as a product of my imagination.
Until your late nights at the office,
and tiredness
led to sexual and emotional frustration.
There is a rotten stench
that can not be denied,
One of us;
being you,
has something insidious to hide.
