Poem: Walk away

Walk away, don’t stay;
He will pay for his actions one day.
Abandon the bruises of yesterday,
Lady, you must leave today.
Flee the suffering silence,
the prison of financial security.
Ride the bike of celibacy once again
even though the road is not easy.
He can’t give you what you need,
please lower commitments flag.
When you agreed to live together
you didn’t agree to be his punching bag.
Receive no more black eyes;
leave the contusions at his door.
Cast aside the dark shades,
wear long sleeves no more.
No one can force you to go,
but beyond this horizon is a better life.
Someone who appreciates a woman’s worth
and will never physically disrespect
his girlfriend or his wife.
Even if you don’t find that prince someday,
you are better off living alone.
Instead of trying to consume
his brackish soup of love
with a hole filled spoon.
Keep his pleas, his sex
and his charms at bay,
cracked is admirations clay.

There are no more words left to say,
woman don’t stay, walk away!
