Poem: You are the Sun

I wrote this poem to challenge myself to create a love poem better than any I have done before. Time will be the judge -

You are the sun

My door of affection welcomes you beloved
to experience a passion you have never known
I light up with a smile from within when you are near,
because you are the sun to this moon.
Woman, draw towards me like a river to the ocean
and taste a bit of heaven on my lips,
Allow me to bask in your awesome beauty
and feel a slight electric charge emitted
from my fingertips.
You are the "chosen one" and I’m the nurturing manna
that God provided for you alone;
Your delicious desert to lick and consume everyday
like raspberry sorbet on an ice-cream cone.
Caress these wanton hands,
hands that are drawn to you like a magnet to steel.
Touch this craving chest that welcomes your velvet fingers
and experience what I feel.
Your name is inviting like the magnificent dawn,
I look forward to hearing and saying it everyday.
Every perfumed breathe I breath in is slower
because your intoxicating presence makes my head sway.
My love for you my darling is an ageless diamond
that sparkles for you alone.
I will follow you like the night does the day
because you are the sun to this moon.
