Poem: A man is not supposed to cry
A man is not supposed to cry,
but this “pain” is too strong for my pride to hide.
No matter how I hard I try, I
can’t keep these feelings locked inside.
Losing such a perfect treasure
would make any grown man overflow
with tears until his banks ran dry.
Your decision to leave me was my greatest fear,
I just want to roll over and die.

why did I choose to stay,
Why did I allow my clothes to fall
and disrespect you that way.
Why did I constantly spout a shower of lies?
Evoke a river to flow from your once trusting eyes.
Now, in your face I see no mercy,
no forgiveness, and no answered prayer.
Only anger and resentment
for wasting so many of your heartfelt years.
Why did I allow my libido
to tell my hands where to go?
Why wasn’t I strong enough,
mature enough to tell her no?
Like the mellow clouds in the midst of storm,
I can’t hide the tears.
A man is not supposed to cry,
but today I don’t care.
