Poem: The Earth Stood Still

The gray clouds parted
to reveal a hue of blue.
The earth stood still
when I saw you.
The sun stroked my face;
you looked at me.
My courage faded into the shadows,
awestruck by your beauty.
Time held us close;
my heart skipped a beat.
Like the wind running through the trees,
the rustling was so sweet.
Pure delight tickled my cheek
and appeased my inner child.
My mind galloped into the horizon,
like a stallion in the wild.
No words spoken,
seconds seemed like days.
Like a pacific vacationer from Greenland
I wished to bask in your solar rays.
I welcomed your presence
like a rose petal greeting the dew.
The earth stood still
when I saw you.
