Poem: Brilliant - Nassau, Bahamas

All I want is a brilliant woman
who will make me better.
One who will allow me to fly higher
because of her inspiring vocal feathers.
Someone who will compel me
to chase after my dreams
as I climb the elusive ladder of success.
A fair-weather friend who will encourage me
when I fail a task
as long as I’ve performed my best.
I yearn for more than a curvaceous diva
to pull and wear my heartstring.
Beyond our many nights of intimate creative bliss
I hope to keep emotionally smiling.
I want a royal blue diamond of substance,
not an ashen statue of stone.
I desire an abiding light that will guide me
when my moral compass is ruined.
I require a walking foundation
in Christian principles,
an evolving church of flesh and bone.
I need a sparkling fork to assist this chiseled knife;
I don’t have time to waste with a confused spoon.
I desire to move forward with a beautiful Queen,
achieving altruistic goals together.
All I want is a brilliant woman like you,
one who will make me better.
