Poem: Anymore - Nassau, Bahamas
She doesn’t smile anymore,
Gone is the happiness
that was apparent before.
Departed is the will to survive,
Somehow she lost the strength and the drive.
She took one pill at first to ease the pain;
Followed by another, and another,
until none remained.
She looks at the mirror
to try and comfort the woman who cries,
But she doesn’t recognise the stranger
who stands before her with the watery eyes.
There is no forgiveness for her transgression,
no hope for tomorrow.
All faith in God depleted
by constant disappointment
and sorrow.
Her vision grows hazy
as she collapses to the floor;
And in her hand rests a picture of a husband
who doesn’t love her anymore.

Poem: Melt your mind - Nassau, Bahamas
Like a silvery cloud
I will make you wet;
dripping beneath
but not from rain or sweat.
Scale your smooth walls,
venture deep into the center of your canyon
Have you wishing that my radiant sun
would dip beyond your horizon.
Evoke your alluring valley
to moisten from my morning’s dew.
Entertain your hidden passage
like a merchant ship to a port and dock inside of you.
Melt your mind with the passionate breezes of my kiss
against your mountain’s face.
Stir your heart with my stroking branches
until it reaches an erratic pace.
Compel your plush river banks to swell
from my warm water’s touch.
Give you all of my earthly essence
until I gift you too much.
Plunge into your rich sea again and again
like a dolphin leaping for fun.
Then bask like two turtles on a reef
in the salt air after we are done.

Poem: The Truth - Nassau, Bahamas
How do I face my trusting family and friends,
how do I handle the shame.
Now that I know the truth,
how do I treat her “the same”.
Tell me that you are lying;
tell me that this is a bad joke.
Tell me that there is no uncontrollable fire
and that you are only blowing cigar smoke.
Give me back my time,
give me back my life!
Save me from this disturbing news
that stabs my heart like a rusty steak knife!
You said that you placed the wool over my eyes
because you wanted financial security.
I despise you, you wretched witch,
for your lack of integrity.
You had me for years
believing that she was my baby.
You knew that I wasn’t the daddy
and it’s driving me crazy.
I love her to pieces, I gave her my name.
Now that I know the truth,
how do I treat her “the same”.
