Poem: Having to live my life alone - Nassau, Bahamas
every wave a tsunami.
Being married was never
supposed to drive one crazy.
Green eyes, vicious eyes,
always quick to report words of strife.
Constant criticism in a citadel
where nothing you do seems to be right.
Where peace of mind is disturbed by a lock of hair
that is never too hard to find;
And every attempt at reconciliation
ends with a word that is unkind.
Confusion plagues one’s thoughts,
stress saps one’s energy.
Gone is the need to share,
hidden is the passion and the synergy.
Every snow flurry becoming a blizzard,
every whirlwind a cyclone.
I never knew that being married
meant having to live my life alone.
