Samson surrendered his eyes.
Othello chose to live
and Romeo chose to die.
All for the sweet smell of a flower,
all for someone they deemed to be eternally true.
All in the name of a woman,
truly there is no "thing" a man will not do.
For you I would pledge my heart,
for you I would sacrifice my life.
As you bear all the virtues and more
that I could treasure in a wife.
To make you happy and fulfilled
in all of your future endeavors.
My dear Edward abdicated his throne,
Lancelot deceived his king,
My father chose to travel one hundred miles,
and I chose to spend all of my savings
on this wedding ring.
All for the sweet smell of a flower,
all for a love they deemed to be eternally true.
All in the name of a woman,
all my precious darling for someone like you.
