Poem: The One

Maybe it was the star-like twinkle
in your eyes,
Or the way your moonlight smile
paints the midnight sky.
That’s the day that I knew
you were “The One”,
That I was the earth that revolved around you,
the sun.
Such a beautiful shooting star
can only be experienced at a glance.
When I saw you, my comet, passing me by
I had to take a chance.

In a moment I fell for you like a meteor
from on high.
Your brief words shot me into orbit
and made me believe that I could fly.
That’s the day I realised that the earth
revolved around you, the sun.
That’s the day that I knew in my heart
that you were “The One”.
