Life is too short to be like these people!

In life it is amazing how people who have known you for years are but mere strangers. These are the same individuals who believe that they should know everything about you and convey nothing about themselves. They hide behind the veil of information being disseminated to friends and family. The truth is that they are ashamed of their lives, their struggles and their success. They want you to build closets and place your living accomplishments next to your skeletons hidden from view. Life is too short to be like these people. I will never be ashamed of them or who I am. I believe that every trial and victory that got me to this point in life were lessons I had to learn. I do agree that people should maintain a certain level of privacy and self evaluation. But it is wrong to wish that everyone else live in the bathroom of shame and secrecy as well. What I have learned is that these people don't want me to know about their lives, they are content for me to hear the rumors about them through the grapevine. They are strangers and I will begin to treat them accordingly. Luckily for them I do care about their fragile egos but heaven help them when my well of empathy runs dry. Life is too short to be like these people!
